The only real rainbow toned nickel I ever pulled from a mint set was a '57. I sent it to NGC and they said it had PVC damage. ???.

I have had some nice '58-d nickels from double mint sets, but like Shane said, they aren't very vibrant.

The best toning I have found with nickel is the aftermarket black cardboard holders with the plastic case.I have seen the years used between 1957(that's where my '57-p can from)through 1964.

This is a new one and I think it might grade ms66. Lots of luster and eye appeal!

So you're the one that outbid me on that '64-D. I already have a couple toned examples of that date, so I stopped bidding around $30. Very nice.
