Sorry for the delay guys.

I visited every dealer, at least long enough to ask them about toned copper and mint sets.  I also asked each one how the show was, the reviews were mixed, from horrible, to poor and then to a few who said it was very good but they've had to adjust their approach.  The best copper dealers like Angel Dee's and Dennis King were wheeling and dealing and they have 5 people at their booths at all times.  Many others were playing tiddly winks.

As a collector, I found four lincolns that got me excited, but three were repeat dates.  So I bought one.

But of course Lloyd's package the day before the conference was a nice little bonus with a big fat ugly blue PCGS 65RB 1911 lincoln that I didn't send back to him.

Toned copper material has stagnated, even from my best sources.  Toned collectors are buying buying BUYOUEROEUR)U)EUWQYE*QWE()W&*E()RRY-ING.  That is my only conclusion and the best pieces are locked up. Same is true of Teletrade, Bowers, HA etc.

The best four coins I've found in the past year have been through private transactions.  So I think people who need to sell toned coins know they have to go right to buyers, and can't go through dealers if they're going to get what they want out of them.  I'm guilty too.  Evidence lies in ebay, and through the personal networks.

That's my take,

Jeff
