Even though rare by pattern standards, this design for 1871 in the silver half dollar is the most commmon of the 4 variations.  Perhaps less than 10 graded, with one and perhaps two at a higher level.  Gorgeous antique blue toning on the obverse. To date how long I've owned this piece, let's just say that it was acquired from a Paramount sale shortly after President Nixon resigned.
